Past, present & future projects

The Neerim District Progress Association (NDPA) strives to bring projects to life which enhance the tourism experience, community living and business, investment & employment opportunities.
We happily work with other community organisations and all levels government to realise this goal. Outlined below are some of our prior, current & future projects.

To enhance tourism experience

  • Wetlands reserve

  • Neerim Bower

  • Installing Caravan Dump sight

  • Upgrading the Neerim South public toilets

  • Campaigning for the reopening of the Tarago Reservoir

  • Campaigning for the completion of the Noojee to Crossover Rail Trail

  • Campaigning for the installation of electric vehicle chargers in the district

To enhance community living

  • Campaigning for better parking facilities in Neerim South

  • Campaigning for safe Pedestrian Crossings

  • Campaigning for a new district Kindergarten

  • Campaigning for a Community Hub

  • Campaigning for access to public transport on weekends

  • Campaigning for better parking facilities in the district for disabled

  • Networking and supporting community organisations such as sporting clubs, local halls and other community groups

  • Working on developing an oral history and history walking trail of the district reflecting the footsteps of peoples of all origins.

  • Campaigning for safe traffic management of Main Neerim Road and all its tributaries.

  • Assisting with Australia Day celebrations 

To enhance business opportunities

  • Campaigning for a better tourism experience through internet and social media presence

  • Engaging direct with local businesses and large employers to ensure we are reflecting their needs

  • Identifying and initiating events that will bring business to the district

  • Ensuring that our organisation reflects the district business community when interacting with council and government departments
